Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her role on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive as well as a domestic worker was raised by her four siblings. When she was a kid she longed to be a reporter for the court. After graduating from high school and relocating in New York in the 1980s and began to model, she was hooked. In 1981, she starred as an innocent teenager in the film All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years in the 80s, has been featured in several films TV movies and dramas. Like her career however, her private life has not been a success or happy one. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism throughout her life as well as two marriages that failed. Her custody was taken away from her son in 2005.
