Her first appearance as a fashion model was in 2017 in which she was a model with Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week, and then was picked by Rodricks for a role at the Spring Summer 2007 collection. It received mixed reviews. Anushka appeared as a Punjabi girl of middle class in a film known as 'Band baaja baaraat.' She starred alongside Ranveer. The movie got positive reviews. Anushka finished her deal of three films together with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
