Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. Later that year her music circulated throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some potential references to Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the song Backseat along with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video later released in September. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. Then, on November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. She appeared with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and she released the song as a solo single to her first album. In February, the music video for the song was released. It has had more than three million YouTube views in just one week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
